Partitioning and Disaggregation Information

Select Partition and Disaggregation Type

This page is used to designate the type of assignment selected for a call sign.
The call sign, radio service code and description, market area and description, and channel block are displayed at the top of the page.

What do you want to do?

Select one of the displayed options:

  • Partition this license
  • Disaggregate this license
  • Partition AND disaggregate this license

A call sign can be partitioned, it can be disaggregated, or it can be both partitioned AND disaggregated in an assignment application.

However, once a partition / disaggregation type is selected for a call sign, only further transactions of the same type may be applied to the same call sign in the same application.

More specifically, once a call sign marked as a partitioned call sign, it may only be further partitioned in the same application (the further partitions may be a mix of defined and/or undefined areas).

If a call sign is marked as a disaggregated call sign, it may only be further disaggregated in the same application.

If a call sign is marked as both partitioned AND disaggregated, it may only be further partitioned AND disaggregated in the same application.

The general flow for a call sign that is marked as a partitioned call sign is as follows: A call sign is designated as a partitioned call sign on the Select Partition/Disaggregation Type page. The partition is designated as a partition by defined area or undefined area. If the partition is by defined area, the defined areas are selected and the population and census information is completed for each. If the partition is by undefined area, coordinates are entered or uploaded followed by the population and census information. At the completion of the partition(s) for the call sign, the applicant may continue to the Partition and Disaggregation Summary page or may return to the list of call signs to perform additional assignments.

The general flow for a call sign that is marked as a disaggregated call sign is as follows: A call sign is designated as a disaggregated call sign on the Select Partition/Disaggregation Type page. The disaggregation is performed by entering frequency bands followed by the population and census information. At completion of the disaggregation for the call sign, the applicant may continue to the Partition and Disaggregation Summary page or may return to the list of call signs to perform additional assignments.

The general flow for a call sign that is marked as both a partitioned AND a disaggregated (combination) call sign is as follows: A call sign is designated as a combination partitioned AND disaggregated call sign on the Select Partition/Disaggregation type page. The partition is designated as a partition by defined area or undefined area. If the partition is by defined area, one defined area is selected. If the partition is by undefined area, coordinates are entered or uploaded. Frequency bands are then entered for disaggregation followed by the population and census information. At completion of the partition AND disaggregation for the call sign, the applicant may continue to the Partition and Disaggregation Summary page or may return to the list of call signs to perform additional assignments.
